Software Engineers

Based in San Francisco, CA

Resilient Network Systems, Inc. seeks engineers at all levels to develop its Trust Network product suite. Engineers seeking the unique challenges and rewards involved in making networks (vs. just using them) will find many opportunities to meet those challenges with us!

Responsibilities
• Build critical Trust Network protocols, components, and capabilities
• Create a reliable and scalable, distributed runtime environment
• Design for operation of a mission-critical environment in the real world: deployability, upgradability, supportability, etc…
• Research and select technical tools and approaches
• Collaborate with other developers and lead by example
• Ensure product quality by writing and executing tests
• Contribute to patent applications
• Present to a variety of audiences including developers, field personnel, and customers

Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, languages
• Experience in development of infrastructure-oriented system software
• Design and development of both asynchronous and concurrent software
• Comfort and facility with networking technologies and environments
• Experience with secure systems and practices: digital identity, security, privacy, and encryption
• Familiarity with protocol definition and design, state diagrams
• Knowledge of PKI and security protocols: e.g., TLS
• Can work with and generally explain common Internet operations/facilities
• Experience/familiarity with current frameworks/packages such as: Java, JSON-LD, Node.js, Tomcat, Maven, Grails, MySQL, Hibernate
• Experience creating frameworks used by others a big plus
• A reasoned distaste for C++
• Experience with testing tools such as: JUnit, mockito, EasyMock
• Comfortable using Linux servers for running scripts and examining data
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and containers a plus
• Experience with Amazon Web Services EC2, ELB, EBD a plus
• Good sense of humor
• Enthusiasm for fast, iterative development while keeping an eye on the strategic plan

Education
• College graduate with a technical degree or equivalent experience
